We’re proud to have been selected as the official funeral director for NHS Worcestershire.
This long-term contract, which covers the entire county, allows us to provide vital services to families in our communities during their most difficult times. Our role includes arranging funerals for those who pass away in hospital without anyone to take responsibility for their final arrangements, as well as providing sensitive care for stillborn babies and non-viable foetuses proving any funeral arrangements if wishing for bereaved families.

Working alongside the NHS
Our duties on behalf of NHS Worcestershire include
The NHS deals with the deceased until the point of death is certified by a doctor. After that, funeral arrangements become the responsibility of the family and their funeral director.
Here’s how we can help:
- In most cases, our main role is to ensure the deceased is treated with respect and care while following the NHS procedures.
- The NHS remains primarily concerned with patient care and isn’t directly involved in the emotional aspects of funeral arrangements. That’s where we come in.
- We offer some logistical support to the NHS, such as:
- Transportation: If the family is unavailable or needs assistance, we can transport the deceased from the hospital to a mortuary or place of rest.
- Initial contact: We may act as a point of contact for the family, informing them of the death and outlining the next steps.
- Liaison: We’ll liaise with the NHS on behalf of the family regarding any outstanding paperwork or authorisations needed before releasing the body.
